MADE IN USA

Gear made by people who use it.

Renovo Amp Works builds boutique recording gear for guitarists who take their home studio seriously. We started in a spare room with a pedalboard full of effects that never made it into a single recording. The EL&R fixed that.
HOW IT STARTED

Your pedalboard is full of character. Your amps are pure analog flavor.

We've all been there. You spend years chasing tone — the right fuzz, the right reverb, the right delay that sits just where you want it. Then you open your DAW and track everything direct. Flat. Sterile. None of that gear ever makes it to tape. You might try to recreate with on board effects but something is just a bit off.

That's the problem we built the EL&R to solve.

The EL&R 500 started as a one-off. Something we built for ourselves so we could run pedals as rack effects, reamp dry tracks through an amp, and get transformer warmth into the signal path without a pile of adapters and ground loops. We built it, used it on every session, and never went back.

As is the case with most guitar gear and pedals, a few friends asked if we could build one for them. Then a few more. That's when we knew it was a real product.
HOW WE BUILD

Every unit ships from Minneapolis. Every unit is tested before it goes.

We're a small operation by design. Each EL&R is assembled by hand and goes through a full test before it leaves the shop. That means we know every unit works exactly the way it should before it gets to you.

We use Cinemag transformers because they're the right choice, not the cheap one. We run regulated DC outputs because wall warts and daisy chains are a headache nobody needs. We built the impedance matching in because getting that wrong changes the tone.

The goal is simple: build gear that works exactly the way you need it to, ships in a few days, and holds up for years.
WHAT WE BELIEVE

Your pedalboard can do far more than sit on a floor.

Effect pedals aren't just for live playing. Some of the best tone-shaping tools in the world are sitting on your board, disconnected from your recordings. We build gear that changes that.

Analog and digital aren't opposites.

Your DAW is a great tool. So is a transformer. They work better together than people give them credit for. We're not anti-digital (in fact, we build digital gear in our day jobs) but we're definitely pro-analog-where-it-counts.

The best gear is easy to use.

Plug in, dial it in, record. The EL&R has front-panel controls for everything and ships with a quick-start guide that actually gets you running in under five minutes.
The Gear

One slot in your rack. A lot of analog in your recordings.
